As summer draws to an end for many, there’s still enough time to squeeze in a staycation. Or, perhaps you want to plan one for an upcoming holiday like Labor Day. Either way, staycations are an excellent and easy way to kick back, relax, all while from the comfort of your lovely home. Whether it’s spending time outside exploring and exercising, setting up a projector in your backyard, or straight up watching three seasons of your fav Netflix show, self-care and time off are so important. Don’t let summer end before you check off these summer staycation ideas.
Here are five unique summer staycation ideas you’ll love!

Feel like a new dish?
Grab a cookbook off your bookshelf and turn to a random page. The thrill of not knowing what recipe it lands on will give you a little rush of serendipity. Make the dish with a loved one (even if via Facetime) and serve on plates you rarely use. This will make it feel like a new and special occasion.

Create artwork for your home!
A fun way to remember this season is to go outside and pick your favorite flowers or leaves to turn into art. I mean like the kind of easy art that you created in elementary school where you iron them inbetween parchment paper. This can actually be really pretty, and there are plenty of DIY tutorials on Pinterest that can show you how to create a beautiful keepsake.

Set up a projector and host your own movie night.
This is a relatively cheap idea that is so much fun. Whether you bring it to the backyard or project it on a wall in your apartment, it will give you all the summer feels. Oh, and if you do it outside, you can view the stars *how romantic* at the same time. Pop a bag of popcorn, grab some candy, put on a cozy sweater, and voila! This combination of ideas screams summer staycation, or, more like a vacation!

Design a fall lookbook.
Get out your favorite fall clothes and curate your outfits for a DIY photo shoot. Gather inspiration from magazines, runway shows, or an influencer you love and put together something you feel confident in. Because hey, that’s the most important. Decorate the scene/background with props you have around the house. You’ll be surprised how much you have that can make it cute!
Whether it’s streetwear, a classic look, or dress to impress, pull out the polaroid camera to make it feel more eclectic.
My streetwear attire always consists of a great, stylish, and comfortable pair of sneakers. Those that live in big, walkable cities can relate to how important it is that your shoes are comfortable. *Because blisters aren’t welcome here.* I live in Adidas sneakers like Stan Smiths or Superstars (seriously, how cute are the holographic ones?!) They check off every box on my list and I always reach for these as my go-to shoe. I think I’ve actually worn mine nearly around the world and my feet are always comfortable. Adidas sneakers are timeless pieces that continue to give off a trendy yet edgy vibe that I love. They seamlessly fit with every look without fail. If you have a pair, what’s your staple style to rock?
P.S. Did you know Adidas is committed to sustainability? Yup! They use recycled materials in their products (woohoo) and care about our lovely planet earth, which is truly a must. You can read more about their high standards here. While you dig through your closet to find your lookbook outfits, you might stumble upon a few pieces you no longer wear. I’m sure you, like me, have something that you’ve never once worn but swear you will one day? Hehe, I get it. For the clothes you know you really will never wear, try selling them online. I’ve sold tons of my clothes on Poshmark, and not only is it super easy, but it’s so rewarding and low-key addicting, haha.

If you have space and the gear, camp outside.
Seriously. I know that might sound ridiculous but this is low-key hilarious and makes for a great memory. You can bring all of your favorite blankets and pillows for a *glamping* feel. To finish the night, make s’mores over the stove flames, in a toaster oven, or the old fashioned way.
Make the most out of the beautiful warm weather (even if we are at home), these unique ideas, and use what you already have for an unforgettable summer staycation! I hope these bring you and yours joy, laughter, and lots of memories. Share which one you are most excited about trying in the comments.
