Did you know there are retail brands that will recycle your clothes and reward you for them? Uh-huh, honey. It’s true.
If you have a packed closet full of clothes, you can benefit from this post. Whether the clothes you no longer wear are new with tags (I see you, haha…) or have been worn a million times but you haven’t donated them yet, you need to learn about these brands that will reward you for recycling your clothes.
Many retail companies will give you discounts on future purchases for simply bringing back items. While this is not an excuse to run out and consume, consume, consume, it is a good step towards being mindful of waste and encourages us to recycle what we no longer need.
Let’s dive in!
Levi’s
Levis Trade-In Program
Levi’s Trade-In Program allows you to give back your Levi’s denim items (jeans, shorts, and jackets) in exchange for a Levi’s gift card. You will have to make an appointment to bring your items back to a qualified store, as Levi’s Outlet stores don’t participate in this trade-in program.
You can get anywhere between $5 and $35 for your pre-loved clothes, as long as they are in good, wearable condition. The Levi’s Trade-In Program website breaks down the details of how much you can earn per item type. It’s super helpful! P.S. It’s worth noting that you can’t trade in kids’ clothes.
If your Levi’s clothes are not accepted for the Trade-In Program, Levi’s will donate them for you!
Girlfriend collective
ReGirlfriend
If you have any Girlfriend Collective clothes, you gotta check this out. From its leggings, shorts, and bras, you can send them in no matter the condition. Yes, old, ripped, stained, etc. – it doesn’t matter to them.
Simply purchase a shipping label, pack your item, and receive a $15 gift card to shop for more. It’s important to note that Girlfriend Collective currently only accepts one item per purchased label. They are a small growing team, so hey, we want to support them even more. 😌 Small companies doing BIG things! We love to see it.
Madewell
Do you have pre-loved jeans cluttering your closet? The “Trade In Your Demin” program is for you. Bring those cute jeans (you’re cute jeans) from ANY brand to a Madewell store, and get $20 off your next new Madewell pair.
