Buckle up and get ready to eat, because here are the top three best trendy brunch places in San Diego. These spots not only fill you up with delicious foods but aesthetically pleasing views and decor.
Morning Glory
Everything about this trendy brunch spot in San Diego lives up to the hype. Whether you are coming here for a bachelorette party weekend brunch or simply feel like eating at the most Insta-worthy spot, this is it.
Morning Glory is nestled upstairs so it has a gorgeous atmosphere and view looking out of its corner spot. With pink booths and over-the-top (but in the best way) decorations, this might become your favorite trendy brunch place in San Diego. Truly. Everything about Morning Glory will make you want to take photos. Be prepared to have space on your phone for this.
The outside has both booths and wrapped bar seating available. It’s shaded by shabby chic multicolor umbrellas.
The inside? Equally as perfect.
Pro-Bruncher Tip:
Come early and put your name on the waitlist. Morning Glory doesn’t take reservations, so have a friend or family member drop you off and come back a bit later. Or, peruse around the area and take in the ocean views.
What to Order:
Sweet Tooth:
THE SOUFFLE PANCAKES.
SERIOUSLY. These fluffy morsels are worth coming here alone. These delicacies take a little longer to make than other items, so ask for these when you place your drink order. It comes with two little cakes a little smaller than the size of your palm. This dish is great to split with a friend or eat on your own…because come on…I know you do (I do too.) 😏
Savory:
My bestie swears by the Morning Glory Fried Rice and Crispy Potatoes. Get an order of each and fill yourself with warm deliciousness.
The Mission
This breakfast/brunch place in San Diego has three locations: North Park, Mission Beach, and East Village. The Mission is a casual spot for locals to come grab a cup of coffee and read the paper kind of vibes.
What to Order:
Sweet Tooth:
THE MISSION FRENCH TOAST.
Hands down, it’s one of the best french toasts you will have for breakfast/brunch. It’s also massive with three large slices, so it’s a great menu item to split. Although, if you’re hungry, you can finish it yourself (I do every time…😋)
It’s made with decadent fresh-baked cinnamon bread and has berry puree drizzled around the sides of the plate. If you’re going with kiddos, you can ask for them not to skip that part.
Breakfast Republic
This Southern California brunch spot is a must-go-to when you visit San Diego. With 11 locations in total, there are 7 in San Diego, so you can easily find one that’s close to where you are staying. This charming, almost rustic feeling brunch spot will hook you on the first bite of its delicious breakfast.
What to Order:
Sweet Tooth:
Omg. The Breakfast Republic is made for those with a sweet tooth. One of my sweet friends (hi, Megs) took me here once and I literally had to go three more times after that week, haha. Okay, so, you can go the pancake route or the french toast route. Here are the delicious deets.
S’MORES FRENCH TOAST
SO DANG GOOD. Graham cracker-crusted brioche bread comes smothered in toasted marshmallows and chocolate syrup.
OREO COOKIE PANCAKES
I’m crying literally writing this haha. These chocolate pancakes are “buttered” with oreo filling and cookie crumbles in between each layer. The stack of three is dusted with powdered sugar for a delicious final touch.
“FLIGHT OF 3” OR “FRENCH TOAST SAMPLER”
If you simply can’t decide, choose a flight of any three pancakes or a sampler of three french toasts. You can pick whatever suits your fancy, and trust me, these flavors will suit your fancy.
OREO COOKIE SPECIALTY LATTE
To top off your sweet breakfast (literally in every way), you have to try this specialty latte. It isn’t rot-your-teeth sweet, so it honestly makes a perfect side to your order of oreo cookie pancakes.
